I retired in 2007 as practice administrator of a 22-member cardiology/electrophysiology physician group, which had annual net revenue of $22.5 million.  I have continued to serve as a consultant to that group (per their request), but I have the time and inclination to do more. 

Major responsibilities included ensuring that all federal and state laws, regulations and industry standards were complied with; served as Plan Administrator for company benefit plans, including retirement; supervised management and IT staff, as well as providing backup for all critical functions in accounting and IT; responsible for vendor negotiations, contracting, leasing and purchasing decisions, including computer hardware and software; oversight of all human resources functions, including employment, termination, payroll and benefits; oversight of all non-clinical operations, directly or through strategic delegation; evaluation, selection and implementation of new practice management and electronic medical record systems; creating training materials for employees for instruction in the use of new software.  I am a member of the Medical Group Management Association and the Society for Human Resource Management.

I can help small businesses find expedient, affordable solutions to one-time, intermittent or ongoing tasks and/or projects.  Many small business owners don’t always have sufficient staff to complete necessary functions, the resources to hire and maintain full- or part-time staff, or the time to accomplish all that needs to be done and still have time to grow their business.
